About Spanish Explorers:

Spanish Explorers is a fun and engaging online Spanish course designed for children of all ages. Through weekly Zoom classes, students will learn basic phrases, the alphabet, numbers, and other entry-level Spanish skill that build upon each session. Each session introduces new vocabulary and simple conversations to help children gain confidence while having fun. The program is perfect for students with little to no Spanish knowledge and encourages curiosity through interactive activities and games. Our goal is to spark a love for language learning while giving kids access to valuable skills they can use for years to come.

The class meets weekly on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 PM.

Registration for Spanish Explorers will close on Monday, October 20 at 11:59 PM.

Stephanie Diaz

Stephanie Diaz

Stephanie is the Spanish Explorers Director and lead instructor. She is a senior at the University of California, Santa Barbara majoring in Biological Sciences. She has been involved with Education+ over the last two years where she served as a tutor to multiple students for several subjects. Stephanie began tutoring at the age of twelve and she has continued to share her love of learning ever since. As a native Spanish speaker, Stephanie was inspired to lead the Spanish Explorers Program to help children discover and enjoy the language that has always been a central part of her family and life. For her, the opportunity felt like the perfect fit. When Stephanie is not tutoring she spends her time volunteering at the hospital, working as a medical assistant, and studying as she continues on the pre-medical track.

  • Spanish Explorers is designed for students in grades 3–5. However, we are happy to make accommodations when appropriate. If your child is not in grades 3–5 but you are interested in enrolling them, please email us at educationplus123456@gmail.com so we can determine if the program would be a good fit.

  • Our Spanish Explorers Director will send out a packet of worksheets and helpful practice materials before the course begins. We encourage you to print these resources if you have access to a printer, but it is not required whatsoever. The program does not require any purchases or materials, just log on to Zoom each week, and Stephanie will guide the lessons from there!

Before and after each class, she will send an email with optional activities and conversation topics to practice between sessions. If your child would like additional support or extra practice, you’re always welcome to reach out to Stephanie throughout the program.

  • Our program is virtual to make it more accessible and convenient for families after school. All your child needs to participate is a phone or laptop to join on Zoom.

We ask that a parent or guardian be present in the same space during each class to help ensure a safe and supportive learning environment. We also encourage you to check in and see what your child is learning—it’s a great way to stay involved and engaged!

  • The fall session of Spanish Explorers will meet on Wednesdays from 4:30–5:30 PM, running from October 22nd through December 3rd. Weekly Zoom links and additional information will be sent via email to all participants. If you have any questions, please email us at educationplus123456@gmail.com.

  • We’re excited to continue expanding our program and reach! A few families have expressed interest in a more advanced Spanish course for students who are native speakers or have a strong foundation in the language. We hope to be able to offer this advanced-level program beginning in January. Please check back closer to that time for updates.
